Jacobo Árbenz overthrow - PBSuccess

Democratically elected president passed Decree 900, ordering expropriation of all property larger than 600 acres that wasn't being cultivated with the aim to give property to landless peasants. This included lots of Land from United Fruit Company. The government offered compensation based on tax records. In order to protect United Fruits profits a CIA-sponsored coup was orchestrated that overthrew government.
